Pocket Mechanic ("the App") is developed and maintained by Nextsoftdata Com ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information in connection with your use of the App.

We have designed Pocket Mechanic with a privacy-first approach. Free users can use the App entirely without an account — all their data stays on their device. Pro and Garage+ subscribers may create an account using their email address to enable cloud backup and sync across devices.

3. Information We Collect from Paid Users

3.1 Account Information

When you subscribe to Pro or Garage+, you create an account using your email address and a password. This is used solely to authenticate you and associate your cloud backup with your account. We do not collect your name, phone number, or any other personal details.

3.2 Data Synced to Cloud

For Pro and Garage+ users, the following data is securely synced to the cloud to enable backup and cross-device access:

• Vehicle profiles (make, model, year, engine, fuel type)
• Maintenance journal entries and service records
• Fuel logs and expense records
• Diagnosis history and saved results
• Reminders and notes
• Gamification progress, badges, and health scores

This data is linked to your account and stored securely. It is never sold, shared with third parties for marketing, or used for any purpose other than providing the cloud sync feature.

3.3 Free Plan — Local Storage Only

Free plan users do not create an account. All data remains stored locally on their device and is never transmitted to our servers. This data is removed when the App is uninstalled.

4. Data We Do Not Collect (All Users)

Regardless of your plan, we never collect:

• Your name, phone number, or physical address
• Location data or GPS coordinates
• Device identifiers beyond what is required for crash reporting and push notifications
• Payment card details or billing information
• Browsing history or data from other apps

The App uses the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy.

6. Diagnostic Data Sent to Anthropic

When you use the AI diagnosis feature, the following information is transmitted to Anthropic's API:

• Vehicle make, model, year, engine type, and fuel type
• Symptoms or OBD codes you have selected or entered
• Any free-text description of your issue

This information is used solely to generate your diagnosis result. It is not linked to your identity or email address in any way, and we do not retain it on our servers.

7. Subscriptions and Payments

The App offers optional paid subscriptions (Pro and Garage+) processed through Google Play Billing. All payment transactions are handled exclusively by Google. We do not collect, process, or store any payment card details or billing information.

Subscription status is verified through Google Play and associated with your account when signed in.

8. Data Retention

For Free plan users, all data is stored locally on your device and deleted when you uninstall the App. We hold no data on our servers.

For Pro and Garage+ users, your cloud data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription and delete your account, all cloud data associated with your account will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

9. Data Security

For paid users, your cloud data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Access is protected by your account credentials.

For free users, your data security depends on your device's own security features. We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date and using a screen lock.

10. Your Rights

Free plan users: All your data resides on your device and can be removed at any time by uninstalling the App. We hold nothing on our end.

Pro and Garage+ users: You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time. To request deletion of your account and all associated cloud data, contact us at the email below.

11. Children's Privacy

Pocket Mechanic is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect any information from individuals under the age of 18. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
